Enjoy the smoothy white: Beach cleaning on Pei-sha Wan

It was sunny today unlike yesterday’s rain dogs and cats. Ming was worrying about the attendance because of the consecutive activities over the weekend and was hoping more people could join.

The tour bus left Panchiao Forward Hotel at 10AM sharp. I was shocked by the number of attendance which was less than what I have expected. Soon I realized many people were driving to the destination by themselves. (Whew!) We arrived at Chun Jin Seafood Restaurant at 11:30. We start preparing and setting for the meeting while we were waiting for other members to arrive. The delicious meal which was prepared by the 2nd Fireside group members started to serve after our members showed up. Our meal was been upgraded to fresh lobster by the friendly and generous owner’s wife. Everyone enjoyed the fresh seafood and the unique dish.. The bikini cake appeared soon after the meeting began. Everyone were so excited about it. (I always need to read the newsletter to remind myself about the meetings info and activities) Our September’s Birthday Boy Norman and the Birthday Boy of the Day Peter Chin were so lucky to have this chance to share THIS cake together. There were Yakult inside the bikini and both of them couldn’t find it until Peter’s daughter took over . (Peter Chin said: I didn’t know my daughter saw that much at night. Will need to locked the door at @@”) The 13-14 team and the 2nd fireside members prepared the cold beer and the frozen watermelon for us to enjoy at the beach. However, when we arrived it was too hot. Therefore, we went to the coffee shop next to it to rest. After some rest we start moving to the beach and rent a whole row of awning. What a Dolce Vita! Soon all these big boys rushed into the sea all together and start playing. I think they might be the same playfulness ten years from now. One of the game that we played was to divide into two teams to see which team bury the fastest. While we were discussing who we should bury into the sand. The big hole of sands were secretly dug. You should know who we buried. Yes, its President Norman and Secretary Peter Chin I think this may turn into our tradition in the future for our Rotary Club of Panchiao Elite.

Live on a better life: Clean up the World Weekend

The clean up the world weekend is an annual environmental campaign. It is held together with the UN Environment Programme, and an estimated 35 million and 130 countries participate.

On Saturday the 28th of September 2013 our Rotary team took part in “Clean Up the World Day” . The team were game and tackled the task with good spirits. The job complete their dirty faces smiled for the camera and the weary few retired to Panchiao streets for a reviving coffee and delicious lunch arranged by the President.

Panchiao Elites x Angels: 2013-14 Annual Service Project with Angel Heart Family SocialWelfare Foundation.

For the members and their spouses of Rotary Club of Panchiao Elite, Oct. 26 is a special day and a harvest trip for body, mind and soul as well. The members and their spouses went out for outdoor activities with Angel Heart Family Social Welfare Foundation in the early morning as one-day volunteers instead of staying in bed for the quiet weekend.

Thanks to the advanced volunteer training by Taoyuan and Taichung branch of Angel Heart Family Social Welfare Foundation and several advanced planning, the members who involved in this activity could know and understand more about Angel Heart Family Social Welfare Foundation. This activity is not only prove the service aim of Rotary club and also strengthen the members’ coherence to Rotary club.

It was sunny day which is perfect for outdoor activities. Our members and Angel Heart Families arrived the location: Flying Cow Ranch in Miaoli. Beginning with the introduction and brainstorming team slogans among the groups, these activities shorten the distances between members and Angel Heart Families. Members were worried that the preparation was not enough, however, the harmonious atmosphere relax their mind.

Interacting with Angel’s parents face to face during DIY ice cream and challenges passing activities, the member could feel their courage for facing difficulties. By the interaction with Angels in close distance, their angel-like smile, willpower and courage, the feelings from the members are not only the happiness of the ice cream and the games, but the deep emotions and understandings between the Angels and their parents. It is the most simple and pure happiness, which makes us feel the selfless love from parents which do not ask for return.

All the members are grateful for joining this one-day service program. Meanwhile, they hope to send the warmth to the Angel Heart Family Social Welfare Foundation and let all the spouses and Angels would no longer be alone with the warmth in their difficult lives.
